QR Code Scanner and Reader
Scan a QR code with your device camera, or read one from a picture, a screenshot or a photo of a poster. The text or link inside is shown before anything is opened, with a warning when a link looks risky (short links, numeric addresses, look-alike letters, no https).
Everything happens in your browser: the camera image and the pictures are not sent to any server. Made a code yourself? Check it here before you print it. Make one with the QR code generator or the styling tool, and see the size calculator if it does not scan from far away.
Or choose, drop or paste a picture
PNG, JPG, WebP or a screenshot. The picture stays on your device.
Tips for a good scan
- Hold the code steady with the whole square inside the frame, with some empty space around it. Good light helps more than a closer camera.
- For a picture, use a sharp one where the code is large. Screenshots and PNG files work best; blurry photos of curved surfaces are hard to read.
- Before you open a link from a code you did not make, read the address shown. Codes stuck over other codes on posters or parking meters are a known trick.
- The camera needs a secure page (https) and your permission. If you refuse, use a picture instead.
